"Driveaway Kit" for connecting a Motorhome Driveaway awning to a Fiamma or Omnister wind out awning , consists of 300cm of double edged piping and 4 pieces of figure of 8 .
All the Driveaway awnings we offer for the coachbuilt motorhomes have a 6 mm diameter piped edge on the attachment tunnel for connection , this piped edge requires a fitting kit to connect it to your motorhome .
The most popular method of attachment is to connect the awning to a Fiamma or Omnister wind out awning which most modern motorhomes have fitted as standard , there is a slot along the leading edge of the wind out awning that is incorporated for a day room attachment but lends itself to being used to attach a drive away awning.
It is not recommended to attach the awning directly to the slot , we recommend that a suitable Driveaway fitting kit is used, this consists of a strip of double edged beading that is slid into the slot , the outer edge of the beading is then joined to the piping on the edge of the awning using pieces of figure of 8 strip.
NOTE; MODERN FIAMMA AND OMNISTER AWNINGS NEED A DOUBLE BEADING WITH 4MM DIAMETER EDGE TO FIT THE FIAMMA/OMNISTER AND A 6MM DIAMETER EDGE TO FIT THE FIGURE OF 8.
SOME OLDER OMNISTER AWNINGS WILL ACCEPT A 6MM DIAMETER BEADING IF YOURS IS OF THIS TYPE ORDER DK02 BELOW

If there is no fiamma or omnister awning then it can be attached by taking staps over the roof and pegging the other side or by having an awning rail fitted to the side of the van by a motorhome dealer to which you can attach the awning using a Driveaway kit DK02 as below .
